I bought this series-2 bike as a non-runner. All I know about its past is that it came from Spain and it looked like it had been abandoned in a ditch for several years. A lot of parts were missing or damaged including the brakes. Thanks to Nick Alcock, another Atlas owner, I acquired a replacement seat and side panels and with a bit of patience new or good s/h callipers and master cylinders were located. The engine was worked on by Andy Bartlett (Monty racer of repute) who also repaired the starter motor, replaced the starter clutch with one off a Zane 650 Sport, and sorted out the rest of the electrics. New tyres were needed as the old ones had cracked, but the existing chain was just about salvageable. It is now up and running on a day time only licence, although if replacement indicators are fitted it should be good for full approval. I am really pleased I bought the bike, it has been worth the effort to get it running again. |

but have never been in traffic in Holland. It had then 57 000 km on the meter and now 62 000 km. I have let produce new stainless steel muffler, protection under the engine and luggage rack in aluminum. Future plans are new ignition system, renovation or upgrading of the intake and carburetor and new seat cover. |

The 1065 I bought in Germany, it was a bit worn, so there were some repairs. The 1281 was intended "for spare parts" - but after 50 meters on the first test ride it was clear that this was no Atlas - it was a hellgoing wild beast :)) So still no bike for spares... |

It was in 1988 when I bought my Laverda Atlas from Bodo Bergmann in Saarland, where I am originating from. Together we experienced a lot of beautiful voyages and also break-downs, but never seperated. The most expensive repair was the drive shaft in 2013. The picture was taken on my voyage to Leipzig in 2014. |

I bought the bike in June 2007. Obviously the bike was completely reworked (Powder coated frame, new shock- absorber and several other parts were replaced). To me the 600 Atlas is a perfect motor bike. Light, easy to handle and very low fuel consumtion. When I get the oportunity, I will buy another! |
