"You meet the nicest people on an Atlas" (unkown author...)

With the Atlas Rallye 2017 hold "in the north" it was a great pleasure to meet some new faces: the "usuals" Bruno and Franky (the first by car as he recovered from a surgery, the latter on his MZ - "for sure the better Atlas"), Joerg and his wife, Asia travelers who became passionate Atlas riders during the last years, Cord, an amazingly crazy Italophile and inventor of the 'hardtail Atlas' with his family, the funny Dutch couple Hans and his wife, who started their holidays with the Rallye and Stephen, british expat with a fascinating life around the world who pushed his A-condition RGS through the Saturday afternoon rain to join the Rallye.
Despite some repairs on the MZ (you know, the better Atlas...) and increasing rain we had a very nice saturday 160km ride in the Harz crossing beautifull villages and twisty and tiny paved roads - to end at a Kyffhäuser monument hermetically shieled by police due to a political party conference *huh*
At the evenings, in a relaxed and warm hearted atmosphere, time passed too quickly to tell or listen to all the stories one like to tell or listen to - so we left something for next year :)

Bei der bis jetzt am nördlichsten durchgeführten Rally 2017 konnten wir einige neue Gesichter begrüßen: die Stammgäste Bruno und Franky (ersterer aufgrund einer OP im Auto, zweiterer mit seiner MZ "definitiv die bessere Atlas"), Jörg und seine Frau, passionierte Asienkenner und noch relativ frische, aber um so überzeugtere Atlas-Fahrer, Cord, ein herrlich verrückter Italofan und Erfinder der ersten 'Starr-Rahmen Atlas' mit seiner Familie, Hans und sein Frau, die lustigen Niederländer die ihren Urlaub mit der Rallye starteten und finalemente Stephen, britischer Expat und Weltbürger, der seine superbe RGS durch den Samstagnachmittagregen bis zur Rallye gescheucht hatte
Trotz einer Verzögerung durch eine Reparatur an der MZ (sicher die bessere Atlas...) und zunehmendem Regen konnten wir eine sehr schöne 160km Samstagstour durch urige Harzer Dörfer und über kurvige und kleinste Pflasterstraßen fahren - um dann vor dem wegen eines Parteitags hermetisch abgegriegelten Kyffhäuser zu stehen *pffft*.
An den Abenden in entspannter und warmherziger Atmosphäre verging die Zeit wie immer zu schnell, um all die Abenteuer zu erzählen oder zu hören, die man gerne erzählt oder gehört hätte. So haben wir einiges fürs nächste Jahr übrig gelassen :)
